Feel like you’re trapped indoors this winter? Don’t let the cold weather get you down, make the best of it! After all, winter is one of the best seasons to take advantage of aromatherapy. When the door has been shut tight and you need to purify the air, why not try a blend of essential oils to lift your spirits?

Put the potato chips and that remote control down! Just because it’s winter, it doesn’t mean you have to hibernate. As the days grow shorter and the air gets colder, we look for those long warm days that provide freedom and fun in the outdoors. Want a quick solution? Bring the aromas of the outdoors into your home!

Spice oils such as cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and ginger carry a warm scent that evokes childhood memories of family, happy holidays, togetherness, laughter and joy. Fragrant blends of evergreen, pine, and holly remind us of Christmas’ that brought sheer excitement and warmth.

Try a this blend to bring the scent of Christmas and the outdoors into your home:

20 drops of cedar wood
3 drops of cypress

Add combination to 2 oz. of boiled water and let the air mist the rooms of your home. The woody aroma will leave a slight undertone that is both crisp and refreshing. It will uplift the spirit of your family and guests.

Looking for a blend that’s appealing and invigorating to the senses? Try a citrus and spice blend. The uplifting scents citrus’ and spices will really perk you up when you’re feeling slow and groggy. This is a great blend to infuse throughout the house when your family members have a cold or feel congested. The citrus scents are strong and often act as a decongestant.
